A more unlikely couple you will struggle to see as Jean Arthur and John Wayne pair up in this rather fun comedy romance with spurs. Mollie is on a grand bus tour of the US until a stop in Oregon where she gets floored (literally) by a freshly bucked, handsome rodeo performer (Wayne) and off we go. This is a light-hearted outing for The Duke - soft lighting and a sensitive score help create quite a sophisticated environment for their - at times quite feisty - amour to develop. Never the most convincing of dialogues, and probably more remarkable for what it isn't than what it is, it is still quite an engaging little whimsy. see more
